Getting ready for your Apex Coatings installation day? Here’s exactly what you need to do to ensure a smooth, efficient installation.
Before Installation Day
- Clear the floor completely. Everything on the floor must be removed — cars, bikes, boxes, shelves, sports equipment. Items on walls (pegboards, cabinets) don’t need to be moved.
- Arrange temporary storage. We partner with portable storage providers. You can also move items to your driveway or backyard for the day.
- Don’t pressure wash the floor beforehand. Our team profiles the concrete with diamond grinding — pressure washing can actually cause issues with moisture. Leave the floor as-is.
- Note any areas of concern. If you have significant cracks, stains, or soft spots, make note of them. Our team will assess and address them during installation.
On Installation Day
- You don’t need to be home — just ensure our crew has access to the garage.
- Keep pets and children out of the work area.
- Expect some noise during the diamond grinding phase (1–2 hours).
After Installation
- Wait 12 hours before walking on the floor.
- Wait 24 hours before parking vehicles or placing heavy items.
